Position: Temporary / Fall General Election Campaign


The Philadelphia Federation of Teachers is seeking motivated, organized Temporary Political Organizers to support our fall general election campaign. This position will help mobilize union members, strengthen community relationships, and support campaign activities during the critical weeks leading up to Election Day.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct member outreach through phone, text, email, and in-person conversations.
  • Assist with voter-registration and voter-engagement activities.
  • Recruit and coordinate volunteers for canvassing, phone banking, and other campaign activities.
  • Participate in canvasses, member meetings, rallies, and community events.
  • Maintain accurate outreach and volunteer records.
  • Help communicate campaign information to PFT members and community partners.
  • Work collaboratively with PFT staff, union members, and allied organizations.
  • Support additional campaign activities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team.
  • Commitment to organized labor, public education, and civic engagement.
  • Prior experience in political campaigns, labor organizing, community organizing, or field work is preferred but not required.
  • Must be available for a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends during the campaign.

Compensation & Schedule:

This is a temporary fall campaign position with a schedule to be determined based on experience and campaign needs. Expectation of Work: Approximately 15 Hours of Work per week. Compensation: $25 an hour
