PFT Members,
I am elated to begin December with some phenomenal news for you: on January 1st, your dental coverage is getting a MAJOR overhaul.
You'll soon be receiving a mailer from PFT Treasurer & PFTHW Chief Trustee Arthur Steinberg who, alongside PFT Staff Representative & PFTHW Trustee LeShawna Coleman have been working tirelessly to negotiate and implement a plan that truly reflects the concerns you have shared with us.
There are a few highlights in the graphic above--the increase in access to specialty providers is astronomical. I'm really impressed by our team's ability to increase the number of endo & periodonists by 85%. Now, members in PA and NJ will have far more options to ensure the care they need.
I also want to point out a few additional details, specifically relating to dentists (as opposed to specialists):
- We recognize that many providers have dropped our coverage, and we will be sending each one of them a letter outlining our new, greatly improved rates, and urge them to rejoin.
- Similarly, if you have a provider that you wish to return to, consider reaching out to them, letting them know that they'll be receiving increased rates (details will be in our correspondence to them), and you'd love for them to rejoin!
