"Today we mark five years since the horrific mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School where 17 lives were so brutally cut short. And today, America wakes up to the news of yet another mass school shooting, with three students killed and five more critically injured.
"Our hearts break for those killed and injured at Michigan State University last evening, and for every person impacted by this tragic and far too common occurrence.
"The devastation of this crisis should be unthinkable, but the reality is that the scourge of gun violence continues to shatter lives and communities each and every day. My thoughts are with all who are grieving today, and we vow to continue our collective fight for meaningful change."
